"The Competitor Mindset" by Coach Dibz

True competitors live for the unknown. The next show, the next contest, the next sale, the fight. I consider every human being walking the planet an athlete because we are all competing in some aspect of life. Whether you are a mechanic working on getting an engine ready for a race or a boxer getting ready to go 15 rounds for the world title. All of us are competing in some aspect of our lives.
The issue with competitors is that they start to live in the past at some point. Have you ever talked to someone and had the conversation of "when I was in High School, i used to be able to X." Then you sit back wonder "Why are you still living in the past?" Competitors are concerned with "What are we doing NOW!"
Gilbert Arenas, a professional basketball player, was offered to train with Tim Grover. Tim Grover was Michael, Kobe and Dwayne Wade's trainer. Everyone was like "Look what Tim as done for Michael and Kobe." Gilbert responded, "Okay, but what is going to do for me?"
"WHAT IS HE GOING TO DO FOR ME" Gilbert said because he is concerned with right now and where we are going. True competitors, need to prove themselves over and over and over again. Hitting 405lbs on the bench in Highschool is never going to be enough for a competitor.
